CMP’s approach and commitment to Research & Development (R&D) is based on the belief that innovative
technology and reliable products are closely interlinked. This has resulted in the continuation of ground-breaking
progress in the technological field. This philosophy underlies cooperative work done by, and progress in, various departments, including R&D, material science, product design, analysis, intellectual property, and registration and planning, all of which pursue the possibilities in various areas of application beyond the boundaries of paint technology. CMP’s continuous stream of new products, contributions to protecting the environment, and the streamlining of processing operations, have been highly praised by users. CMP also continues with its active involvement in introducing new technologies and doing joint research programs with other research institutions. We make relentless efforts to develop products that we consider are as close as possible to our ideals. The “creation of dependable and reliable products” is an abiding CMP ideal.

Research and Development
Doing thorough experiments and making full use of advanced inspection equipment, the company conducts
research into basic/applied coating technology, promoting mid/long term research activities in areas ranging from material science to the development of high performance, and quality products. In order to reflect customers’ product-related requirements, which are necessary in effective R&D, information is actively exchanged with the Sales department. The results of R&D are applied widely in new product innovation, environment protection, and improvements in existing products.

At customer’s requests, and based on R&D results, the company enhances product specifications and works on
optimizing production processes. Through continuous efforts, CMP has developed a broad range of paint products for marine, industrial and container use, with excellent coating and environmental performance.
